Installation & Setup - TelemetryBox

1. Mount TelemetryBox

  • Mount TelemetryBox in secure location with the 4 included M4 bolts.
  • You can also use strong Velcro, or place in a secure door bag.
  • Keep away from water or other harsh elements.
  • Place where you can see the light on top of the box.
  • Rapidly Flashing Blue light means ready to connect to Star Stream App via Bluetooth.
  • Solid Blue light means that your vehicle is connected to WiFi and sending data.
  • Slow Flashing Blue light means WiFi not available, TelemetryBox is trying to reconnect.

2. Connect Power & Data Wires

  • Using the Power/Data Cables provided, connect to your ECU.

3. Install Star Stream App

4. Connect Device to App

  • Blue light on TelemetryBox should be flashing rapidly, signifying Bluetooth is ready to connect.
  • Open Star Stream App on your mobile device and TelemetryBox will show in the Device list.
  • Tap on TelemetryBox and follow setup instructions.

Bonus Tips

  • Connect Heart Rate Monitors in the Settings section of the app.
  • Press the button on the Heart Rate Monitor to activate Pairing Mode.
  • Make sure you select Monitor 1 or Monitor 2 when setting up each device.
  • Share your Device ID with your Team, Family, and Friends to be able to track all vehicles on the GPS Map and to all view Telemetry.

Important!

  • Make sure your Starlink account is set to Global Priority 50GB in your Starlink Account.
  • Starlink must be wired directly to the battery (or battery switch) of the vehicle for consistent power. It cannot be wired to any other electronics, PDM, or Switch Panel; this will interrupt the power.
  • If your Starlink does not have enough power your Telemetry will NOT work properly.

LED Guide

The TelemetryBox Pro has three color LEDs. Each one reports one thing: Vehicle Data (left), Network (middle/bottom), Biometric (right). Within each light, the rows are in priority order: when two conditions are true at once, the higher row is what you see.

Network LED (middle)

What you see Meaning
White, slow breathe (1.5 s) Firmware update in progress. Do not power off.
Blue, fast blink (5 Hz) Bluetooth setup mode: the box is advertising and waiting for the app to give it a WiFi network.
Blue, slow blink (1 Hz) Joining or re-joining WiFi.
White, slow blink (1 Hz) On WiFi but not activated to an account yet. Open the Star Stream app and activate it.
Solid blue WiFi up and connected to the Star Stream cloud. Normal operation.
Orange, breathing WiFi up but the cloud connection is down; the box is reconnecting.

Vehicle Data LED (left)

What you see Meaning
Red, rapid flash (10 Hz) Error: the CAN bus is off or recovering, or the firmware raised a fatal error.
Solid green Telemetry flowing: vehicle CAN frames received within the last 2 seconds (or simulated data on a test build, once online).
Solid orange No telemetry. Waiting for the vehicle, the wrong CAN bitrate, or the box is not online yet.

Biometric LED (right)

What you see Meaning
Purple, slow breathe (3 s) A heart-rate strap is connected and data is flowing. The cadence is steady; it does not follow the live pulse.
Off No heart-rate strap connected.

All three LEDs together

What you see Meaning
Two white flashes The TP10 test point was held for 5 seconds: saved WiFi networks are being cleared and the box reboots into Bluetooth setup.
Five rapid white flashes "Identify" was tapped in the app: this is the box you are looking at.
